On Thursday/Friday 14th/15th December, children in Year 4 enjoyed taking part in their Anglo-Saxon Day. They had a visitor, who dressed up as an Anglo-Saxon, and led the children in a variety of activities. The children had lots of fun building a shield wall, dressing up as Anglo-Saxons, deciphering Anglo-Saxon Runes and best of all - handling Anglo-Saxon weapons. It was a lot of fun to see Mr Ibrahim in one-to-one combat with our visitor, and although he looked quite nervous at having a real axe hovering above his head, he bravely let our visitor practise his warrior moves on him - all in the name of education! The children learnt loads and it was a perfect end to an exciting topic.
