Year V Hindu Temple Trip

On Tuesday 24th April and Tuesday 8th May, the Year V children went on a trip to Shree Ram Mandir Hindu Temple. It was part of year V's Religious Education and a fantastic insight into other religions. First the children were introduced to the manager and given an insight into the history of the temple (it is a refurbished cinema). Children and staff were then told about the main beliefs of the Hindu religion and learnt about the practice of worship in Hinduism. After this informational talk, children were able to watch a Hindu worship ceremony and watch as people of the community took part in an Aarti ceremony. It was a fantastic day and we are all very excited to learn more about world religions.
